Last night we drove to Cambridge via the South Mimms services for dinner. I had a panini and ice tea from Starbucks. It only took about 2 hours in the car, plus about an hour at the services.
We are stayed at a small hotel called the Ibis in Cambridge, right next to Cambridge Station, so it’s very convenient when we catch the train. We went to bed almost straight after we arrived, but Abby and I stayed up for about an hour reading Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend. It’s a great book! I definitely recommend it!
In the morning, we couldn’t go to the breakfast buffet, due to COVID-19 restrictions, so the food was brought up to our room in paper bags. We actually got much more than we ordered! 3 cartons of milk, 4 bottles of orange juice, 3 pots of porridge, 2 boxes of cornflakes, 4 pots of yoghurt, 3 apples, coffees and hot chocolates and about 10 croissants and pain au chocolates! We didn’t end up eating much of the selection so we’ll have the rest for lunch or on our journey home. I only had blueberry yoghurt and a pain au chocolate.
This was our room service buffet:

We’re going out in a bit, so I’ll update you on our latest adventure soon!
