At the E & O Hotel there is an old lift. It is the oldest lift in Malaysia or maybe even in Asia.

They have new lifts too that are used to take people to their rooms and stuff, but if you ask the man who stands by the door, he will take you for a ride in the old lift! Daddy, Jamie and I went for a ride in the lift before we left the hotel this morning. Instead of doors it has gates that you have to slide open and shut yourself.  And there aren’t buttons to tell it what floor to go to, but a kind of round dial thing with a handle that moves.

It was fun going up and down in the old lift!
