Hey there! I’m Heidi!
17-year-old composer and multi-instrumentalist Heidi Fopp knows no boundaries when it comes to music! She explores a wide range of genres, styles, instruments and techniques in her composition and performance. A primary focus on jazz piano, but original music expanding styles such as acoustic and electronic pop, country and blues, with enticing performances on keys, guitar, bass, drums, vocals, saxophone and flute – generally not all at once, but some gigs make exceptions! She played the show “Music & You,” winning “Best Cabaret Award” in the 2023 Adelaide Fringe, and her original music is used in podcasts, video resources, advertisements and radio segments worldwide. She has performed at a huge variety of events and functions around South Australia, from festivals to carnivals to shows and Christmas carols, to private functions, funerals and weddings.
In between solo performances, she played for the local sensation The Nineteenth Step throughout the Adelaide Hills in 2022, including opening shows for Ella & Sienna and day-long gigs at the Strathalbyn Show. The three multi-instrumentalists presented comic performances while switching between a plethora of instruments, and performing “jazzified” and reharmonised versions of 90s classics, as well as local Adelaide sounds and their own songs! Besides gigs around Adelaide, Heidi also saw herself playing notable UK venues, including the Renaissance Hotel, London, where the Spice Girls filmed their hit “Wannabe”, and performances booked in the Royal Albert Hall… before COVID-19 had its say! Performances around France were also hindered by the unfortunate timing of the pandemic, but fingers crossed they can happen one day!
