Stationery Sewing

Me and Dad did some sewing the other day. Dad made a bag organizer and I made a pencil case.

We went to the sewing shop to buy some supplies.

I chose some turquoise fabric with words to do with bugs written on it in pink. I also chose a matching zip and thread.

I started by drawing up the length, width and size of the pencil case on a piece of paper.

Then, once I knew how big it would be, I drew the exact shape and size on a piece of baking paper.

Next, I pinned the baking paper shape to the fabric and cut it out. I had to do this again for the other side of the pencil case.

After that, I cut and put the zip in place.

I, with Dad’s help sewed the zip on. We broke the needle on the sewing machine twice in the process!

Then, with the pencil case inside out, we sewed up the sides.

Next I just flipped the pencil case the right way round.

Yay! The pencil case was finished!

Here’s some photos
